Services We Provide

We offer a wide range of pet care services to preserve and protect your pet’s health.

Preventative Care

Our preventative care program includes such services as wellness exams, pet dental care, parasite control, diagnostic tests, spay/neuter procedures, and more.

We encourage pet owners to schedule annual wellness exams for their pets so we can monitor their health. Our Los Lunas veterinarian can often detect early warning signs of health conditions or diseases during a wellness exam, enabling your pet to start treatment right away. The sooner your pet is treated for an illness, the better your pet’s chances of recovering.

Pet Surgery

Our veterinarian also performs pet surgeries like spay and neuter procedures, tooth extraction, tumor removal, soft tissue surgeries, and surgeries to helps pets recover from injuries.

Urgent and Emergency Care

We maintain a team at our facility six days a week to handle emergency care situations as they arise. If your pet is hit by a car or ingests a toxic substance, contact us right away. We will help you deal with the emergency until you can get your pet to our clinic for emergency care. If your pet requires urgent care for a situation that’s not life-threatening, we will do our best to fit your pet into our schedule with as little delay as possible.

Online Pharmacy

For your convenience, we maintain an online pharmacy to make it as easy as possible for your pet to receive the necessary medications to protect its health or help it recover from a medical condition or an injury.

  • Dr. Emily M. Johnson

Dr. Emily M. Johnson was raised primarily in west Texas and has been actively involved in western performance horses her whole life. This involvement led to a passion for equine lameness and rehabilitation while working with multiple veterinarians in New Mexico and Texas prior to veterinary school. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology & Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry from New Mexico State University in 2013. She then attended Colorado State University for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine as a large animal tracker, with a primary focus on equine lameness and surgery. Upon graduation she received the American College of Veterinary Surgeons student surgery award for excellence in large animal surgery. Following graduation from Colorado State University in 2017, she completed an equine internship at Elgin Veterinary Hospital in Elgin, TX. During that internship, she focused on racehorse and western performance horse work, along with general medicine of the equine athlete. She joined Kennedy Equine in 2019 as an equine ambulatory veterinarian. Her ambulatory practice includes racetrack medicine as well as western performance horse medicine and rehabilitation. Her professional interests include equine lameness and performance, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation of the high-level equine athlete. When she’s not at work she’s likely running, hiking, reading, making something delicious in the kitchen, or just spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
